Exterminators! Explore Which Are the Best Products for Pest Control in 2022

While the pesticides exterminators use to eliminate insects are highly effective, many of these can contain toxic chemicals that can cause health issues for your family and pets, damage your property, harm the environment, or even make the problem worse.

If you work in the pest-control industry and weren’t already aware, you might like to know that there are insecticides that provide strong, effective control of a multitude of nuisance insects, including fly control. These fly exterminator products do their jobs without the harmful effects and ingredients that more toxic products tend to have.

Here are three products —all available on the Bask website— that can provide mosquito, ant, flea, and fly pest control safely. The first one we’ll look at is a controlled-release insecticide that works indoors and outdoors and can be used near food handling spaces, livestock, and poultry:

1. CSI Cyzmic Concentrate Insecticide

If you’re spraying for flies, mosquitoes, wasps, or other flying insects, apply CSI Cyzmic directly to walls, ceilings, window screens, and other resting areas as a residual surface treatment. It will get rid of flies in the garage, storage sheds, and carports and is excellent for a fly problem in the house.

CSI Cyzmic Concentrate is safe to kill yard flies and other insects on lawns, ornamental trees, and shrubs around residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial buildings. It’s also ideal to use as a fly treatment in parks, recreational areas, and athletic fields.

What are the primary active ingredients in CSI Cyzmic?

The two main ingredients are lambda-cyhalothrin at 9.7% and propylene glycol at between 15 and 20%.

Lambda-cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid, meaning it is an artificial insecticide made of naturally-occurring pyrethrin, which is derived from the chrysanthemum flowers. It’s worth noting that a synthetic pyrethroid is longer lasting than pyrethrin itself. Lambda-cyhalothrin is colorless or sometimes a beige hue, that can have a mild odor or no odor at all and is nonvolatile with low water solubility.

The other active ingredient, propylene glycol, has several uses, including as a disinfectant and air sanitizer. It also works well for pest control purposes (fleas, mites, lice, as well as various bacteria and viruses), especially those that target pets.

2. Zoecon Essentria IC3 Concentrate Insecticide

Essentria IC3 is an insect killer containing all-natural essential oils that provide immediate knockdown and long-term residual control. It helps you get rid of flies in your yard and kill aphids, ants, cockroaches, crickets, fleas, ground beetles, fowl mites, mites, millipedes mosquitoes, silverfish, spiders, ticks, wasps, and other nuisance insects.

Because it works in an eco-friendly way, Essentria IC3 is safe both indoors & out, and around pets and livestock. It has no aquatic toxicity, allowing you to use it around water to eliminate spiders, mosquitoes, and other water-dwelling insects without fear of harming marine life.

Which essential oils and other ingredients are in IC3?

The active ingredients in Essentria IC3 are the essential oils rosemary (10%), peppermint (2%), and geraniol (5%), which is generally colorless with a sweet rose scent. Geraniol is the principal constituent of geranium oil and is derived from various essential oils.

The inert ingredients in IC3 include white mineral oil, wintergreen oil, vanillin, and Polyglyceryl Oleate, made up of glycerine and oleic acid. Glycerine is a naturally-occurring alcohol compound found in vegetable oils and animal fats, while oleic acid is a fatty acid occurring naturally in animal and vegetable fats and oils.

3. CSI Vector Ban Plus Concentrate Insecticide

If you’re wondering what is good to get rid of flies, mosquitoes, gnats, wasps, fleas, ticks, cockroaches, and other nuisance insects, Vector Ban is another excellent product. It’s made for use both indoors or outdoors, and is a versatile insecticide in warehouses, homes, livestock housing facilities, milking parlors, poultry houses, and residential yards.

Vector Ban Plus is water-based, meaning it will not damage most ornamental plants and shrubs, so it is safe to use in backyards near lawns and landscaped areas.

Are Vector Ban’s Active Ingredients also Essential Oils?

The active ingredients in CSI Vector Ban Plus are Permethrin (10.0%) and Piperonyl Butoxide (10%). Like lambda-cyhalothrin, permethrin is a pyrethroid similar to the natural insecticide, pyrethrum, which is found in chrysanthemums. Permethrin can kill a wide range of pests, and products with it typically contain piperonyl butoxide (PBO). PBO is a pesticide synergist, increasing permethrin’s ability to control insects. Permethrin and other pyrethroids overexcite the insects’ nervous systems, ultimately exterminating them.
