FAQ

Mistmaster™
What is Misting?
In misting systems, fine droplets of liquid are suspended in the air and settle over a wide radius, minimizing the amount used while maximizing the specific treated area. Mist from the Mistmaster is a combination of liquid and air flow from the internal blower. This air helps propel the mist to cover the maximum distance. Air Intake Holes located on the sides of the Mistmaster allow air to flow freely into the blower.
What is so special about the Bask Mistmaster 3-in-1 Compact Misting System?
The Bask Mistmaster provides three configurations of misting: Mist Blower, Misting Wand, and Mist Station in one portable compact device. Each method allows efficient distribution of mist to your desired treatment area.
  • MIST BLOWER: as a portable tool, with the built-in blower. The ideal method for distributing quickly a fine mist over a large area such as your backyard, gym, playroom, ball field, or campsite.
  • MISTING WAND: as a portable tool, with the wand attachment. The ideal method for targeting smaller areas, such as soffits, baseboards, crevices or any other specific areas indoor or outdoor. The wand disperses mist in a cone shape, allowing you better control over how the mist is applied and target hard to reach spots.
  • MIST STATION: as permanent installation. The ideal method of misting for a small area you intend to treat regularly, such as your patio, terrace, or yoga studio. A simple and highly customizable installation of mist stations allows you to treat specific areas of your property or business—even areas that are difficult to reach—with just the push of a button on your Bask Mistmaster long-range remote-control (up to 1,000 feet).
What is included with the Bask Mistmaster 3-in-1 Compact Misting System?

How to use the Bask Mistmaster with the Mist Station and how to install a Mist Station?
Bask currently offers two types of Mist Station kits. They allow you to install a permanent customized configuration of mist nozzles to easily treat any area of your property or business. Each kit includes simple, step-by-step instructions for installation. Misting stations are controlled remotely using your Bask Mistmaster long-range remote control, allowing you to easily disperse mist for 15, 30, or 45 seconds at a time. Option 1: Riser Kit. Bask risers are designed for ground installation along the perimeter of your desired coverage area, such as along hedges, tree lines, or fences, with the misting nozzles pointing up. Two styles of risers are available:
    • Slim Risers (½-inch copper construction)
    • Ultra Slim Risers (¼-inch Grade 316 stainless steel construction).
The risers are designed to elevate the mist nozzle to 24 inches above the ground, allowing you to remotely control the release of mist upward to repeatedly treat a fixed area. Each riser will tee into the nylon tubing connecting the risers to one another and to your Mistmaster device. A plug is provided in each kit to terminate the last tee in the run. Each kit includes:
    • four risers (each with a mist nozzle, mount, and tee),
    • 50 feet of nylon tubing, one nylon plug, and a tube cutter
Option 2: Overhead Kit. Bask overhead mist nozzles are designed to be mounted above the area to be treated, using existing structures like railings, eaves, trees, or sprinklers, allowing you to remotely control the release of mist downward to repeatedly treat a fixed area. Each overhead mist nozzle will tee into the nylon tubing connecting the mist nozzles to one another and to your Mistmaster device. Each kit includes
    • four overhead mist nozzles (each with a mount and tee),
    • 50 feet of nylon tubing, one nylon plug, and a tube cutter
Riser Kits and Overhead Kits are fully compatible and can be configured to work together. A Bask Mistmaster long-range remote control (700+ feet) is available as an optional accessory.
How often will I need to refill my Bask Mistmaster 3-in-1 Compact Misting System’s tank?
Depending on which misting method you are using, refill frequency will vary. Option 1: Using the Mist Blower method When your Mistmaster is filled and fully charged, you can expect to operate continuously the blower function for up to 20 minutes before refilling the tank. Option 2: Using the Misting Wand method When your Mistmaster is filled and fully charged, you can expect to operate continuously the wand function for up to 80 minutes before refilling the tank.
How often will I need to charge the battery of the Mistmaster?
Depending on which misting method you are using, battery charge consumption will vary. Option 1: Using the Mist Blower method When your Mistmaster is fully charged, you can expect to operate the blower function for up to 100 minutes (approximately 5 tanks) before recharging the battery. Option 2: Using the Misting Wand method When your Mistmaster is fully charged, you can expect to operate the wand function for up 210 minutes (approximately 2.5 tanks) before recharging the battery. Battery life will vary due to many factors, including ambient temperature, cycling, battery age, usage, and maintenance.

      Mist for bug-free spaces
Why misting is the best option to maintain a bug-free area?

The best way to maintain a bug-free area is a multi-mode approach referred to as integrated pest management (IPM). It focuses not just on the elimination of insects at each life stage (eggs, larvae, and adult) but also on the elimination of the habitats in which they live and breed.
Minimization of chemical interventions is a key tenet of IPM and is made possible through surveillance of pest populations and environmental conditions and by using the Bask Mistmaster to treat specific area with the Mist Blower or the Misting Wand.
When installed in a fixed location with our Mist Station, use the Bask Mistmaster long range remote control to deliver a short, 15-, 30-, or 45-second treatment, as needed.
You’ll get the most out of the Bask Mistmaster—and do the most for the environment—if it’s run at dawn and dusk, when biting insects are most active.
Enhance the impact of the Bask Mistmaster, while moderating your chemical use, by eliminating the habitats that nurture biting insects. As a start, get rid of any unnecessary containers that collect standing water, change water in bird baths and potted plant trays once a week, and keep ponds and pools circulating. Keep lawns mowed and free of leaves, maintain a 3 foot mulch or stone barrier between plant beds or woodland areas and lawns, and place woodpiles away from everyday activity areas.

        Mist for germ-less places
Why misting is the best option to sanitize all surfaces?

Mist distributes very thin droplets of the sanitizing treatment so you reach all surfaces easily and efficiently. Misting makes sanitizing your space effortless as it focuses on thoroughly cleansing areas while eliminating germs and bacteria. Sanitizing your indoor and outdoor space with the Bask Mistmaster is comparably better than using sanitizing sprays and wipes as it targets specific areas evenly, quickly and without leaving a damp surface. This means when the Mist Blower and Misting Wand are used, you don’t need to remove any objects, such as a piece of paper from a desk, because it won’t get wet and damaged. Same thing when installed in a small fixed location with our Mist Station: use the Bask Mistmaster long-range remote control to deliver a short, 15-, 30-, or 45-second treatment, as needed. You’ll get the most out of sanitizing your spaces with the help of our Bask Mistmaster.

          Mist for healthy plants
Why misting is the best option to nurture plants?

Misting makes taking care of your plants effortless as it nourishes every crevice of your garden efficiently. Mist distributes very thin droplets of the treatment to plants and reaches all their leaves, even beneath them easily.  Nurturing plants will be a total breeze with the Bask Mistmaster. Between all three Mistmaster features, you can maintain your plants’ moisture and lock in their nutrients. The Mist Blower would be an efficient way to mist a garden or big patch of greenery. The Misting Wand can be used to mist your smaller garden pieces and plants, that might need more attention and care. Lastly, the Mist Station can be attached to the top of your gardens pergola, or inserted in the grass, and dispense regular bursts of the treatments your plants need most to thrive with just a touch of the long-range remote control.

What are the best practices to manage drift and runoff?

The Mismaster has been responsibly conceived to have no leaking or run off. Regardless of how you mist, our dripless feature prevents waste when the system is stopped—as does the quick-disconnect feature when you switch accessories.

            Mist for fresh, clean air
Why misting is the best option to eliminate odors?
Misting is the best option when it comes to eliminating odors because its thin droplets cover all surfaces to kill micro-organisms that cause malodors. It is not a wet spray that leaves surfaces damp without killing germs and odors– it is effective because it stays longer in suspension in the air to truly kill lingering malodors. If you’ve been dealing with pesky odors around your living or working space, the Mistmaster will help. The Mist Blower will help you eliminate odors that are inside or outside your home. Use the Mist Blower where your dog usually lays, or where your garbage might leave a lingering odor in the kitchen.
What are the best practices to eliminate odors?
It should be known that some micro-organisms  are the source of an odor, so a treatment that kills these micro-organisms will be best for eliminating odors. Then, if you wish, you can replace them with the light, natural scent of one of our fragrances or essential oils. The Mist Blower can be used to effectively remove odor quickly, or as a professional-scale scent diffuser, in large area such as outside on your patio or in your home.  You can use the Misting Wand to treat inside your car, or if the smell is coming from a smaller area inside your home, such as the bathroom or nook.

                Best Practices

                Maximize nature.
                Minimize Chemicals.

Spray drift is defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as the movement of droplets of chemical solutions (e.g., pesticides, herbicides) through the air at the time of application or soon after, to any site other than the area intended. Your Mistmaster nozzles are designed to create fine mists (ranging from approximately 10–100 microns) from various treatments offered by Bask, including pesticides and herbicides, for treatment on yards, gardens, turf, and other outdoor areas around your home or property. It is your responsibility to take proper precautions to ensure spray/mist drift does not adversely affect people and the environment surrounding your intended treatment area.

Runoff occurs when water and any contaminants such as pesticides flow across the soil surface into existing bodies of water, such as streams, canals, rivers, and lakes. Runoff also can enter water systems through storm drains. It is your responsibility to take proper precautions to ensure runoff does not adversely affect people and the environment surrounding your intended treatment area.
For additional information and best practices recommended by the EPA to reduce spray drift and runoff, visit the EPA website at www.epa.gov/reducing-pesticide-drift/introduction-pesticide-drift.

                A family life changer!

"I had the opportunity to find out about the Mistmaster when participating in focus group testing. This portable misting device has been a life-changer for our family. Now we can enjoy spending time in our backyard more than inside the house without worrying about bug bites anymore. I mist 2 times a week and use the wand for specific backyard areas once in a while. It appears to be enough to keep bugs away. The only negative thing I can think of is the weight when fully loaded."

"I've been using the Mistmaster since few months to disinfect and get rid of some odors in my Yoga Studio. It's incredibly easy to handle, and with the blower I can quickly take care of all the common areas. I have recently added a small fixed system in one of the studios, with nozzles attached to rails in the ceiling. So every night, when closing, I plug the device and mist for 30s. I can tell you my clients are extremely happy that I use this tool...and so do I!"

Their first impression is essential, and it starts with the smell when they enter the car they have rent! Using the wand on the Mistmaster, my team can quickly clean and eliminate bad odors in the cars, such as tobacco or wet dog. This job takes no time, and our clients appreciate it very much! Thank you!"
